The Working Group Numbering and Networks (WG NaN) shall
1. (1) develop policies in numbering, naming and addressing and (2) advise on technical regulatory matters in electronic communications networks and services to encourage innovation and to support fair competition between the different market actors and in the interest of the citizens;
2. Objectives
– Develop national and international numbering, naming and addressing plans for new services and applications and promote their sustainable use;
– Develop and promote harmonisation of the different national numbering, naming, and addressing plans and policies where justified;
– Develop policies in order to prevent, detect and resolve abuses related with numbers;
– Identify where technology developments and standards effect the regulation of network access, interconnection, and interoperability and recommend on the appropriate measures;
3. Cooperation
– Provide a platform facilitating dialogue and information exchange with the involved stakeholders on practical technical regulatory matters which have become an issue in one or more CEPT countries;
– Consult with various bodies, organisations and industry players inside or outside the CEPT, or Administrations outside the CEPT, with the principal aim to coordinate CEPT activities, to collect information and to broaden the support of CEPT positions;
– Organise workshops with stakeholders on key subjects;
4. Deliverables and their approval
– Prepare Decisions as directed by the Plenary;
– Prepare and approve Recommendations and Reports as necessary;
– Develop and agree on common positions in international organisations as the ITU and ETSI;
– Develop and maintain its work programme, approve the work programme of its subordinate bodies, and guide and co-ordinate the work of these bodies;
5. Report to the Plenary.
